what will happen if I don’t square off my sell option in F&O before its expiry?

Call will be booked to current market price. Nothing matter whether you book profit or loss. The day of expiry automatically your position will be mark to market.
This is what happened in the case of future and options. There is no penalty or anything.
As like every day it would be marked by m2m that is Mark to market.

Here is the story I have to share: It was early August month2013. when first time I was invited to an event. Told by the associate that it's youth event where you can interact and talk alot about entrepreneurship & innovation. Lots of big businessman. Bright people, have  reach direct at the top class businessman that you see in the newspaper or TV. I got amazed that really i will get such a chance to interact. I got attraced having no real first hand experience of such things before. I joined them and got there on time. Really they engaged me and gave me some insight.
