How long should we keep running a loss bearing startup for?

Right answer is don't run a loss making startup.
It will be better if you can make profit from first day. I know future startups are not designed such like that but if you can that would be most best part of your startups. And healthy for many reasons.
How to be profitable. That is easy give solution and take your charges for this service for product. If it's not able to sell then idea have some loopholes. Maybe you are creating that has no demand.
I would suggest do market research again. Bcoz if you can sell how Wana make money in the future.
If you are making but not enough. Then look to raise money.
If you believe, keep improving and selling. Fix your survival. Else it may hurt.
